In the mid 1970‘s Bounty Boats bought the mould tools for the hull and superstructure of the Elysian 27. This had been a hugely successful model already, produced by Appleyard Lincoln & Co, and later J.G.Meaks. There was high demand for a compact aft cockpit boat, but newer models to the market had seen the Elysian decline in popularity.
Bounty Boats moulded a new superstructure for the original Elysian 27 hull, and with just a few minor alterations to the layout the Bounty 27 was launched. With such a good reputation the “Elysian 27” name was used, but the model is probably best known as a Bounty 27 Aft Cockpit (AC).
The majority of models were supplied with the moulded key areas and berth bases, which made the fitout quicker, easier and further resiliant to hire use.
Around 1983 a new hull and superstructure were created and the model changed name to the “New Elysian”, or Bounty 27 Ac MK II, which continued the models success. Click here for details of the MK II.
